The Nordics is a sustainable tourism cooperative of the countries of Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden co-funded by the European Union. Traveling between the countries:


It is easy to combine The Nordic countries in one itinerary. The type of transport you need depends on your route. Below are links to local transport providers throughout the region to help you plan your itinerary. Each travel provider has an overview of routes, ticket types and seasonality, making it easy to plan an itinerary.

Trains and buses

Many of the national trail lines collaborate across borders, so you can, for example, take the train from Copenhagen to Stockholm and buy one ticket. Greenland, The Faroe Islands, and Iceland do not have a passenger rail service but operate bus services and cars with drivers.

Car hire services

The Nordics have great signage and great roads, making it an ideal region for self-drive vacations. There are multiple car hire companies that operate in the region. Some cars can be picked up in one country and dropped off in another for a fee. Be sure to check each company website before planning this.
