By combining cutting-edge satellite-based Earth Observation technologies with practical, accessible Climate Action Plans, we empower tourism businesses, destinations, and decision-makers to thrive in the face of climate action.

Climate Friendly Travel Services crafts Climate Action Plans for tourism businesses and destinations rooted in the three pillars of Climate Friendly Travel:

1. Paris 1.5-aligned – Ensuring tourism meets global carbon reduction targets.

2. SDG-linked – Driving sustainable development through measurable actions.

3. Nature Positive – Prioritizing ecosystem health and biodiversity protection. 

CFTS process begins with a comprehensive operations analysis, identifying priority actions that deliver measurable impact, unlock long-term cost savings, and ensure alignment with evolving regulations. Following this, and thanks to their partner Murmuration, CFTS integrates advanced satellite Earth Observation data with cutting-edge Travel & Tourism and Climate Change research to provide transparent, reliable, and highly precise insights. This enables CFTS to assess:

Climate Friendly Travel Services Tools

Tourism Activities Climate Impact Assessment:

CFTS's climate impact simulation tool enables Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) to model the past and future effects of environmental and climate conditions on tourism activities. Using five key indicators—air quality, biodiversity health, precipitation, wind speed, and air temperature—the tool allows users to simulate different scenarios and assess their impact on 10 key tourism activities, from nature and adventure to shopping and nightlife. User-friendly and tailored for destinations and activity providers, it supports strategic and operational planning, helping DMOs enhance tourism resilience and adaptability in a changing climate.

Climate awareness workshops:

Designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of climate change and actionable solutions based on IPCC scientific data. CFTS offers engaging sessions such as Climate Fresk and 2tons, along with tailored workshops customised to the specific sector and knowledge level of participants. Additionally, the Climate Friendly Travel (CFT) Kick-Start Course equips tourism professionals with the tools to integrate climate action into their strategies effectively.
